Executive Meeting – December 7, 2009

1.Review and adopt last months minutes.
-Steph adopts
2.Presidents report:
-Nobody knows what happened to the money from the Labour Day Tournament party.
-Brad asked Chris Urquhart to take team pictures for every team. He’s going to set up a time with teams individually, so stay tuned.
3.Vice Presidents Report: none.
4.Treasure’s Report:
-All our major bills are paid. If you have an invoice, please let Neeraj know asap.
-Sam will look for receipts for her Labour Day sponsorship costs.
5.Field Report:
-Reminder that Tues Dec. 15 and Dec. 17 at Oak Bay is open for all to come and play. Check website for times.
-The spring practice schedule will be completed this week.
-Sat. Jan 9 at 6pm, Sat. Jan 30 at 6pm, Sat Feb. 6 at 6pm at PISE are available.
6. Equipment report:
-First Aid kit isn’t in yet so Jos will deliver it to the teams individually.
-Dave needs more corner flags
-Fiona may have extra corner flags.
7. New Membership Report:
-There hasn’t been a lot of new memberships.
-We need know how much to charge players who register in January (or who just play one game in December).
-Player fees: $250 in September, $150 in December, $125 January, and $100 February
-If we need to change it next year, we will.
-January 15, 2010 is the deadline for transferring players.
8. Social Report:
-January 9th Salmon Kings Game. BBQ at clubhouse at 5pm. Burgers $3, Hot Dogs $2. Tickets are $15 again. Great stocking stuffer!
-Christmas Party this Friday December 11, 2009. Wear your tacky Christmas sweaters!
-We might do another Salmon Kings Game in March.
9.) Coaching Consultant Report:
-Goalie Clinics: more to come in January and February hopefully so stay tuned.
-The coaching for the future program is still on hold. It won’t start until February at the earliest.
10.) Website Report: none.
11.) Sponsorship:
- Sam had a meeting with Andrew today who is the marketing guy at the Highlanders. They would like to have adult teams (5-6 people) to hand out “hot sheets” at the games. Each volunteer would get 2 free tickets. There are 10 home games this summer. The sheets can be sold for $2-3 and we get all the profits. They cover the cost of the printing.
12.) Sixty-Second Team Rep Reports
Over 30s FC Women: Still doing okay. We lost on the weekend. We have 15 players now.
Over 30s United Women: We had a hard loss a couple weeks ago.
Over 40s Men:
Over 35s Juniors: Doing okay. Lost their best striker to a knee injury.
Div 4 Men: Had a good win three weeks ago. Claudio would like a refund because he was hit by a car and won’t be able to play for the rest of the season.
Div 3 Men: In third place. Won a couple and tied a couple games in the past month.
Div 3 FC Women: Played really well on Sunday even though it was super icy.
Div 3 United Women: Only had 7 people at the last game.
Div 2 Women: Doing fairly well. Sitting in third with 11 games as of today. Tied Juan de Fuca yesterday.
Div 1 Women: Won on the weekend with 3-0 with 11 and a half players. In 2nd place.
Premiere Women: Tied 0-0 against. We are in 2nd place in the league. Tied the worst team in the league yesterday. Done until Jan.17th.
13.) New Business:
-World Cup this summer: The DSC will be organizing some social events for the games at the club. For instance, recording the game and then playing it later in the day at the club, food, drinks, etc.
